Finding The Right Gear

About Me

Finding The Right Gear

After a friend invited me to go motocross biking, he told me that we were going to have to stop off for some gear first. We visited a specialty outdoors store, and they fitted us with all of the gear I thought we would ever need. When we were out on the trails, those pieces of safety equipment came in handy as we wiped out at even slow speeds more than a few times. I wanted to make this blog to help people everywhere to know how to find the right gear, how to use it, and how to avoid injury during extreme and motor sports.

Top Signs You Should Purchase A Side-By-Side UTV Instead Of An ATV

If you want to purchase a vehicle that you can use for traversing all sorts of terrain, then you could be thinking about buying an ATV, such as a four-wheeler. You do have another option, though: purchasing a side-by-side UTV. If you're having a hard time choosing between the two, consider these top reasons that a side-by-side UTV might be a better fit for you than an ATV.

You Don't Want to Ride By Yourself

ATVs are typically designed for just one person to ride them at a time. This is not the case with side-by-side UTVs, however. UTVs have at least two seats that are beside one another, making it easy for you to bring along at least one passenger. However, some even have a backseat area with more seats, so you might be able to bring even more people along with you to ride.

You're Looking for a More Comfortable Ride

Riding an ATV can be a lot of fun, but many people don't find it to be very comfortable. To ride an ATV, you have to straddle the seat and sit in a bent-over position. In a UTV, on the other hand, you can simply sit up in your seat. If comfort is of the utmost importance to you, then you'll almost certainly find a UTV to be a good choice.

You Won't Be Riding in Tight Spaces

Of course, the whole joy of having either an ATV or a UTV is the fact that you can take your vehicle into areas where you can't take your car or your pickup truck. ATVs are typically smaller in size and can be maneuvered into all sorts of small, tight spaces. Although UTVs are smaller than most passenger vehicles and can typically be taken into rather small spaces, too, they are wider and can't be taken everywhere that the average ATV can go.

You Want to Be Able to Haul Things

If you're going to be using your vehicle as a work vehicle and want to be able to haul things with it, then you're probably going to get better performance from a UTV. UTVs are typically bigger and have stronger, more powerful engines. This allows them to do more work than what you could do with the average ATV.

You're Looking for Something a Bit Safer

It's true that you can get hurt on either an ATV or a UTV, so it's imperative to wear a helmet and always operate your vehicle carefully. However, be aware that many people find that UTVs are safer. Many UTVs feature seatbelts, roll cages, and more to help protect you and any passengers that you have with you when you ride.
